I just want to see who prefer the old and fast paced game play rather than the slow paced battles in the Sinnoh region.

I'm sorry, but what?

Haven't battles always followed the same pace?

Do you mean the battle animations? You can actually turn those off, though! =D (I only recently learned this, XD) I like the faster battle style for training up low leveled pokemon, but I prefer the animations for the plot/storyline battles. (more interesting ^_^)

But the battle animation option has been there since long before Gen IV.

As far as the actual paces of the metagames themselves, DPP being called "slow" couldn't be further from the truth. With items like Choice Band/Specs and moves like Nasty Plot, plus all of the entry hazards, it is a lot harder to stall. GSC, on the other hand, was basically the prime example of a stallfest with Skarmory and Blissey being the most used Pokemon and Curse and Restalk being three of the most common moves. RBY was pretty fast because the strategy hadn't fully developed, while RSE is like mini-DPP but without being as exaggerated.

Now, if this is actually about the interface of playing the video games, only DPP is really slow. (RBY is also slower but that's because they simply hadn't added all of the convenient features like "Face a tree and press A to use Cut" or "Face water and press A to surf." And the item storage is catastrophic compared to the later games.) RSE was actually the fastest-moving game of the series with 60 frames per second, and it's really ridiculous to accuse RSE of being "slow"; try playing GSC or RSE after playing DPP and HGSS and it's like night and day. Regardless, the other three Generations have the same frame rate, but DPP just seems slower because the world is now depicted as "bigger" and with actual depth.

In short, generalizing RBYGSC as "fast" and RSEDPP as "slow" makes no sense from any angle you approach.

I also mean things like messages, exp bar, and several other things, or maybe I've just been playing Silver to long. XD

haha yeah, you have...

I like the pace of RSEDPPtHGSS's gameplay better as it flows better then the older games(duh) & other reasons I can't think of...

Again, what is with the generalizations?

GENERATION I
-Metagame: Medium
-Interface: Medium-slow

GENERATION II
-Metagame: Slowest
-Interface: Medium-fast

GENERATION III
-Metagame: Medium
-Interface: Fastest

GENERATION IV
-Metagame: Fastest
-Interface: Slowest by far... anybody who tries to act like moving around in DPP or HGSS isn't at a snail's rate is kidding him- or herself.

There just isn't any of this "The old games are the slowest (or fastest) and the new games are the fastest (or slowest)" stuff. And Platypus, things like the speed that messages appear on screen can be adjusted in any of the main series' games.

The funny thing is that, compared to just about any other RPG ever, Pokemon's gameplay from any of the four Generations is incredibly S...L....O....W. Everything is announced by speech bubbles and you have to go through three or four lines of text to do something as simple as Cut down a tree or Surf in the water. Why do I need THAT much confirmation just to use an HM? It should be as simple as facing the rock/water/tree and pressing A, with the object in sight being removed or addressed immediately without having to scroll through tons and tons and tons of generic words.

And the battles are the worst of it. In most other RPGs using an attack is as simple as selecting the attack. The character attacks immediately and the battle moves along at a brisk pace. In Pokemon, it's like "Pokemon used Rain Dance! A rain dance is brewing! I'm going to remind you at the end of EVERY SINGLE TURN that it's still raining! Hooray for more needless text! Are you getting tired of reading all of this filler yet? It's still raining! Oh, and if your Pokemon has an ability that is affected by the rain, I'll make sure to announce that at the end of every turn after my generic 'it's raining' announcement! God forbid you're holding an item like Leftovers too LOL! Is this TL;DR enough for you yet? It's super effective!"

I agree...there is too much confirmation in Gen IV to even tolerate at times but I still think it flows better(not saying that it moves faster/slower per say) then the previous Generations, aside from Gen III actually which I liked better then Gen IV in a way...
