Post subject:  How Big Will The Pokedex Get?!
Do you guys think that in future times that the Pokedex may be as big as 1,000? I mean It's a good thing and a bad thing I guess....cause first the game is a SUPER challenge which is good....I thought the other games were easy peasy but...what do you guys think?

I'd rarely doubt that lol....but hey they might pitch many of them like they sort of did in Saphire and Ruby....but that was a bit too easy but I do agree it is getting a little out of hand

Another game with different things to do would be fine.
More pokémon would not. Sure, add a few more legendaries in the next game, but we don't need a whole new set of 100. Almost 500 is ENOUGH.

Well, it's obvious they're running out of ideas (Woody Willy Nosepass? *shudders*) but the new Poke'mon are cool in their own right. I would not complain about them adding a few new legendaries (though there are a LOT already) to round up the total to 500, which is a nice even number to stop at.

I think new GOOD legendaries would be nice, things like event pokemon should be obtainable in the new versions. I also think they shouldn't make "new pokemon" more than make new forms of the old ones. Notice how this games new pokemon were pretty much all Kanto Evolutions.

New Electabuzz
New Magmar
New Eevee Forms
New Magneton
New Fossil Types

It's all pretty much an update on old stuff cause they are running out of ideas.

But just remember! In Red, Blue and Yellow version there is a code to get Yoshi the dinosaur as Pokemon No. 999! :lol: Anyways, you guys are all right. 493 total is already WAY too much to try and catch. If they keep bringing more, then it will just get too confusing and WAY too complicated. What they should do, if they make a new handheld system, is create a Pokemon game that is basically every region in one game. By every region I only mean Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Basically you can start with Kanto and when you beat the Pokemon League you are allowed to go on a ship to take you to Johto. And everytime you beat the Pokemon league in a new region, another one opens up. Also, the only way from Kanto/Johto to Hoenn to Sinnoh is ship only! That would be the best thing ever, in my opinion. But no one really cares for my opinion these days.

Back on subject: I agree that the Pokédex is getting to be larger than it should be. Nintendo, can be a little bit more original? I don't want the Eevee to be more confused than they already are.

See what I mean? C'mon, Nintendo, be a little more created. Don't create another Eeveelution! They can't take it anymore!

I wouldn't mind if every few years they made a new game with another 25-30 good, quality pokemon, maybe with one new legendary per game. But, I do think that they will try to squeeze another few games out of the series,but that would throw us roughly around 700 pokemon, ouch :(

It is gettting tiresome, but Nintendo tried to make it more bearable by changing filling the Pokedex from owning to encountering. That made it a lot easier, in my opinion.

I like the idea of moving from region to region.
But you should be able to start in any region you want.
Like you choose your name and then starting region.
If we had to start in Kanto, then go to Johto, we'd have millions of
people naming their character "Ash". I know, there already are,
but honestly, I don't do that. I use my real name.

It would be nice to have a set 500 and all of the regions obtainable on one game, and be able to capture every pokemon all on one game even though that ruins there marketing strategy where if you want some pokemon you have to get the other game. I also believe if you had to start in Kanto everybody would be Ash which would be reallllllllllyyyyyyy annoying just like how I spelled really(<-Little Joke There) either way I hope they make a New DS with PSP size screens i mean how AWESOME would that be!

awesome idea. and the pokemon you caught in kanto would be automatically transferred to your johto pc once you beat the pokemon league there etc. im not looking forward to transferring my emerald pokemon (all 386) to d/p when i get it. but at least i dont have to trade via the gamecube this time!!

fantastic idea id like that, also only encounter pokemon for that region like the origional 150 in kanto etc

and yes it is out of hand now half of the new pokemon are like robots

What's wrong with that? Nothing. The more pokemon they make, the more players will be attracted. Telling Nintendo and Game freak to stop making new pokemon is like telling a dog to walk up the CN tower, they won't listen. If they stop making new pokemon, it would ruin the experience and pokemon would become another seriesa that fell into the dust, never to be seen again.

i think they should keep making pokemon until they run out of ideas and acually have good ones not ones like chimeko. i mean serioult who what a chime for a friend. and they make atleast 3 pokemon for every evolutionary line exept for legendaries.

All series fail in time. Thunder cats, Street sharks and many others all dissappeared. Ninja turtles and Transformers lost popularity years ago, they are now being brought back simply because everyone has run out of ideas for anything new. Pokemon will no doubt follow a similar fate, crashing and burning as its influence wanes in the shadow of "The Next Big Thing", only to rise again from the ashes 10 years from now with a new face and make a second attempt at world domination.

Or Nintendo could just keep spewing out 100 dodgy pikachu look-a-likes every few years and allow the franchise to mutate into a hideous, uncontrollable juggurnaut of destruction and poor product quality.

Personally, I prefer the first result.

They should of stopped with the 2nd generation. 3rd and 4th are terrible. I've only just recently accepted 3rd generation into my life, but 4th gen... My god

Seriously. 98% of 4th generation is worse than Luvdisc. I agree with most of the people here, they have run out of idea's. They all look like robots. And then there's things from space like Solrock and Lunatone. Nintendo is getting way out of hand. Half of 4th gen is legendary or ancient or something. The names aren't the best either.

PS. 3rd gen is OKAY. Not great, but just okay. Anyone notice how 4th gen isn't listen on the official pokemon website?

i don't know what you guys are talking about, there needs to be 507 new pokemon for the next generation! then 1000 more for the next! by then, even absol will have a -2 evolution and jolteon will finally evolve.
