Wild Pokemon are supposed to be catch by a Ball if you want the Pokemon.

Sometimes,we have a hard time catching them.My friends told me press A,A+B,down+B and up+B while the Pokemon is in the ball trying to get out they say it will be easier and as I try it.It really is true even a healthy Pokemon I can catch with those beliefs.

Is it really true? Are you also trying that?

I was told a similar thing where if you pressed Up+B twice while the ball was being thrown, then held down Down+A when it opened to capture the pokemon. the ball got Masterball effectivness. None of these kinds of codes actually work, unless you hack with an AR or something, and I doubt thats even possible.

I still hit that up+B, Up+B, Down+A thing though whenever i catch a pokemon, simply because after a couple of years of doing so it turneed into habit. Do what suits you best, just don't expect it to work 100% of the time or something :)

I just hold Down+B right when it's put in the ball. I used to use a whole bunch of different combos, but after a while it hurt my hand, especially when I was trying to catch legendaries.

I remember the "Hold down B while alternating Left + Right" trick back in the RBY days. The habit stayed with me until the adv. generation, when my friend convinced me to smash Select as fast as you can instead.

Personally, I don't think these tricks work at all, but it's a real confidence boost (if I can say) if you catch a legendary by these means.

I normally press B constantly. It started when I got my Red Version and I could never break the habit.

I got into the habit of pressing A on the "click" when the ball seals, knowing that it had no effect on the capture. For a real struggle, I've been known to rock the d-pad left and right in time with the ball. Only in Gen III, though; the twitchy jerk of balls in D/P threw me off the habit, so I just toss and wait in Pearl.

I do that quite often too.

Anyway, when I got my Ruby version, when I told one of my friends about it, he said that holding the R button and continually hitting the L button increases the chance of capture by 75%. But I know that's not true, it never worked.

I button mash A and B for the sake of it. Don't really think it works though, so I do it more out of habit than anything ;o

I just press "A" repeatedly, and I do it faster when the Pokeball wiggles.

Post subject:  Re: Superstitious Catching

I think the thing I would do is hit A + B at time exact times when the ball twitches.

But now after having played ranger, and normally having the stylist in my hand during battle, I draw circles around the pokeball on the lower screen.

I once randomly pressed buttons for the heck of it.

And do you know what? The odds of catching a Pokemon actually decreased while I was doing that. It's true! When I did it against legends the ball never shook once. When I stopped the ball shook at least 2 times...

Now I never do it.

That's actually the biggest myth in existence to date.

The answer is - No, it's false, unproven and unprovable.

LOL i knew that one its imposable to time the voice thing right anyway. but it is proven that pushing buttons (depending which game) DOSE WORK. different combonations increase the precentage by only to 3% so that little boost is helpful. but it is still only based off luck.

I hold B and partly close my DS/SP. I don't know; it seems that whenever I watch the Pokeball, it pops out right away. :x

In Diamond, whenever I through a pokeball, when it wiggles I always make a circle with the stylus. I have no idea why I started doing that.

The game code has been stripped open and read. In none of the games from RBY to D/P does any button trick, mic input, stylus scribble, or butt wiggle have any effect, beneficial or harmful, on the capture rate.

I dont press buttons. They dont affect. It's all about cath rate wich can be matematicly solved. You just might have idea that sometimes when you vatch pokemon, you press the buttons it get caught. But you only realize good luck. Not the 90 % time when pokemon don't get caught. I never ude these tricks.

Yes, we know nothing can affect if a pokemon gets caught or not, but it's become a habbit of us and we will continue doing it every time.
