Leveling up / exp. points question

I'm wondering if there is less exp. points needed to make an unevolved pokemon go from one level to the next then its evolved forms.

If this is true, then wouldn't it be a good idea to keep a pokemon unevolved for as long as possible while leveling it up?

But of course this raises a few more questions,
1) Would the total # of exp. points gained be the same for a lvl 100 version of an unevolved pokemon and a the lvl 100 version of its fully evolved form?
2) If you were to let it evolve at some point in the middle of the leveling up process, would the amt. of exp. points between levels of the evolved form be the same as if you had let it evolve when it was supposed to evolve? OR, because you had been holding its evolution back for many lvls, and therefore leveling up fast with fewer exp poitns needed, would you now need more exp. points to go from one level to the next at this later point with the evolved form?

I'm not sure if this info already exists in the psydex, but I couldn't find it.

I think both Pokemon would gain levels at the same rate and would need the same amount of experience to hit level 100. Thus, your Pokemon wouldn't randomly revert levels if you stalled on its evolution, nor would it suddenly jump ahead extra levels. The reason it seems like evolved Pokemon take longer to grow than their earlier forms is probably because, as their levels grow, every Pokemon naturally needs to acquire more experience to level up further, and the evolved forms are usually the ones who reach these higher levels.

Actually, when I was typing up my entire Pokemon database, I found out that every single Pokemon in an evolution line has the exact same experience curve. Even all 8 forms of Eevee. You only benefit to keep a Pokemon at an unevolved state would be to either learn moves earlier, or learn a different set of moves.

They end up with the same total Experience eventually, I'm sure of that.
