Hi.
This is maybe a stupid question, but I will ask it anyway.
If I have a Pokémon that is immune to Poison, like Forretress, and somebody uses Poison Sting, will Forretress then avoid the dammage that Poison Sting would do and only become poisoned or will it also avoid the poison dammage that would be dealt to it every turn?

Pokemon Questions do not belong in Help. *Moved* to Pokemon Center.

It will get the damage but it will not be poisoned.

Steel and Poison Pokemon are immune to the status effect of poison, so they'll still take the normal damage of poison sting, but they won't be poisoned though. I'm not sure but I think Steel resists Poison damage? I cant check because I'm on my phone.

Steel-type Pokémons ARE immune to Poison, but Poison-types are not.
Thank you for helping.
EDIT: A moderator can close this. I have got an answer.
