Yesterday, me and my friend were talking about the Gym Leaders in Pokemon. Then we noticed, there is no dark type Gym Leader! So we decided to create our own. So basically my question is, what Dark type Pokemon and moves would you have if you were a dark type Gym Leader?

There's a Dark-Type Elite Four, but you're right, there isn't a Dark-Type Gym Leader. If there was a Dark-Type Gym Leader, I think they should have:
Umbreon-Dark Pulse, Psychic, Moon Light, and Pursuit
Houndoom-Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Crunch, and Fire Fang
Mightyena- Embargo, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, and Ice Fang.

I think there is a topic about this... I have created actually my own set of Gym leaders (in this forum, Create-a-league topic), and seventh of them is using Dark type. He uses:
Absol lvl. 44
-Night Slash
-Swords Dance
-Sucker Punch
-Aerial Ace
Absol begins the fight. He is quite fragile, but so is your pokemon too agaisnt him. Kill him quickly.
Umbreon lvl. 46
-Mean Look
-Toxic
-Curse
-Bite
Umbreon is the top durability. After Curse, if you have wrong poke trapped, he can became quite threat. With the fact that the Gym leader heals him, it can be difficult to take him down.
Spiritomb lvl. 46
-Dark Pulse
-Shadow Ball
-Calm Mind
-Rest
Spiritomb has no weaknesses. Because he holds Chesto, he can wipe you quite easily. Calm Mind is meanie.
Weavile lvl. 48
-Ice Punch
-Night Slash
-Brick Break
-Swords Dance
With Focus Sash, this Weavile is true meanie. Night Slash hurts even before SD, but after it it easily KOs. Weavile is also very fast, so you can have problems outspeeding it.
If you beat Buck, he admits his defeat and gives you TM Dark Pulse. You also obtain 4600 Pokedollars, and Nocturnebadge.

A dark type gym leader would be interesting.
I believe that the following pokemon would go well:
Umbreon
Weavile/Sneasel
Mightyena/poochyena
Absol
Crawdaunt
But what is really needed is a good solid Dragon Gym Leader.
The only problem with that of course (and this might be the problem with a dark leader) is that Dragon types are to strong and mysterious for a gym leader to use.

There already is a dragon type gym leader in the second gen games.
A dark gym would be quite good though.
Umbreon
Wevile
Houndoom
Mightyena
Absol
Im noticing how all of these have an umbreon, i knew he was good, but not that good.

If Umbreon had a better movepool, especially on the attacking front, he'd probably get used as much as Cresselia if not more. It's his only weakness really.
Oh, and Claire sucks as a Dragon gym leader.

I'm not good at making teams, but has anyone thought about what the gym design would be? Would it be totally pitch black? Not even any light surrounding the player? That'd be pretty cool. To be really sadistic, it could be pitch black, no light, and a really hard maze. Only the sound of you bumping into the walls could help you. Not to mention the many battles with gym trainers (who could somehow manage to see you even though you can't see them...maybe they have heat sensing goggles or something?) I think I'd love that gym....

I really think they should include a Dark-type Gym Leader in the next generation. After Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
