Extra Effect Moves. You guys will probably laugh at me but I'm just wondering about these. Ok so, when moves (that have a secondary effect) are used and they do a lot less damage than they usually do (like being "not very effective") it seems like they usually activate their secondary effect.

For example, when my Thunderbolt does a LOT less damage than usual, it usually paralyzes.

Or, when my Psychic is used on something like Bronzong, it seems to lower special defense more often.

Is it just me? Or when a move is unusually weak does it activate it's secondary effect?

It's just you. Type effectiveness has no effect on whether or not a secondary effect works or not. Still, it's pretty good luck for you that your secondary effects activate when you need them to :) .

Funny. This has never happened to me. What DOES happen to me though, is that when I'm against a wild Pokemon that I don't already have, the lower its HP, the more often I get a critical hit and lose the Pokemon. But then again, that seems to always happen to all of us! XD
