The only two I can really comment on are Sheik and Barney, since I don't really know who those others are. Sheik was dressed up as a guy for a actual purpose so I wouldn't say anything that bad about that. And Barney is a purple dinosaur, nuff said |

It happens. As long as they don't have ambiguous genitalia, I'm cool. |

I feel I'm going to sound stupid by saying this but I don't get the Poison or Bridget pictures, (if it's meant to be obvious, I don't know them, lol). Are they l*sbians? If so, I can't tell that they are from their picture and surely Poison, at least, isn't a transsexual - even if they had a great boob job and surgery on their 'privates', their hands/arms/stomach/legs look way too delicate and feminine to be a guy's. *Edit* Is there something wrong with the poll? It says there's like 6 votes for 'pink' but it adds to 0% and I know I'm cr*p at maths but that can't be right, can it? Hec of a lot of votes for a topic that's not been up a month, lol. (Meh, I voted for purple anyway, although it's not my favourite colour out of all the colours.) |

Poison has a *****. And I voted for pink in the poll. Girl Power > Gay Pride |

Poison is a character from Final Fight, which is a beat-em-up series made by Capcom. The first Final Fight came out in 1987 and, when it was ported to the consoles, Nintendo didn't like the idea of the female punks getting beaten up (there were two female enemies in Final Fight: Poison, and Roxy, who is highly similar to Poison). Capcom, in response, claimed that Final Fight didn't have any female enemies, stating that Poison and Roxy were "newhalves," or what Americans would probably call transexuals or maybe even "dickgirls." Some translated Final Fight games in America have actually referred to Poison using masculine pronouns since then, and apparently Roxy was retconned back into being a woman. The whole "Is Poison a man or a woman?" debate seems highly similar to the good old "Is Birdo male or female?" debate from what I've seen. Everybody seems to have a different opinion on the matter and, like with Birdo, the gender discrepancies stem from translating the game into English. --- On the other hand, Bridget, who is a character from Guilty Gear, is legitimately male. To quote Wikipedia regarding Bridget's backstory, "Despite the character's name, appearance, and female voice actor, Bridget is actually male. The reason for his feminine and, at times, androgynous appearance, is that he is the second of twin boys born in a village where twins of the same gender are said to bring bad luck. To hide this fact, he was raised as a girl." |

Jolly Roger appeared in Banjo Tooie. When you talk to him, he's sad, because his tranny "wife" was eaten by a fish or something. After you save her, he jumps on the counter and dances around. You can tell he's a fruit by his voice... basically, he's a gay stereotype. |

Poison actually seems cool. :( Bridget looks like a female to me, but if someone told me she's male I could see that, too. I always thought Birdo was male. ;[ |

Both Bridget and Birdo are male. It says so in the manuals for their respective games. |

Yeah, and Nintendo said anything involving Birdo being a female or being Yoshi's partner/girlfriend at least a good ten years after they wrote "He thinks he's a girl and he spits eggs from his mouth. He'd rather be called Birdetta" for Birdo's official bio in the manual for the original SMB2 (US version). |
