:o

All you nay sayers can go to hell. I'm dirt poor though, so I probably shouldn't have bought it... even 4 months ago when I did. If you have one, go ahead and talk about it to irritate everyone else. :D (which I suspect is no one)

what is the hype over sony? big whoop, it cool graphics.

#1.) Very expensive.
#2.) Low game choice.
#3.) No one else plays it.

I don't really know why everyone is repeatively stating the fact that the PS3 has a poor game choice. It hasn't been out for too long. You have to give it time. Besides, this year is supposed to be a great year for games, including the PS3. So, after a little bit of time, the PS3 will be more popular.

They like to trash it, because it's expensive and not Nintendo. There's really nothing wrong with it, so everyone will just make up the fact that no decent titles have been released. As if the Wii had more than three good games.

I was going to bring up that point but someone would say something about me bringing that up and then it would turn into the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 discussion. So....... yeah, the Wii barely has any good titles.

I like about five of the PS3 games out right now.

Dude I trash Sony and Nintendo. Nintendo has screwed up Pokemon and Mario games, in my opinion. And I hate Sony just because it's Sony. MICROSOFT FTW. Ya lol. I have a 360. I feel that with 360s you get more bang for your buck. And you need like 10 of your buck to get a PS3. So ya....

I currently own a Wii, and have (fairly) ready access to a 360 and PS3.

I'd get a 360, but for one thing, it'd hit the budget pretty badly, and the games currently out and coming out don't justify me getting one, especially since I can play someone else's.

PS3 has even less that I find interesting. A lot of what's out now I find to be uninteresting, garbage, or uninteresting garbage. On down the road I can see the PS3 getting better, assuming that developers don't blow it and take a few more shovels full out of the hole Sony already dug.

While Wii doesn't have the massive library that the 360 does, it has a lot more than PS3, and add to that the amount of interesting titles (like three Shooters on the 360 were of interest, and two of those are on the Orange Box, which is superior on PC. The other being Bioshock, which is also on PC, but not necessarily superior because of it)

Wii is currently going through the exact same problem as the early DS had. A bunch of minigames (See: Meteos, Wario Ware, etc.) and ports (Mario 64 DS, etc.)

Wii's starting to get better titles, and it already had some decent ones to start with. I think the only thing that really hurts the Wii is the lack of the otherwise multiplatform games (see: Soul Calibur 4, Devil May Cry 4, etc.) and those are solved by getting a 360 as well.

most console war issues are solved by buying more than one. Save up cash from your job. Use that beefy tax return, drop some hints when your birthday rolls around.

unless you're under working age, then you're kinda boned on that one.

That thing here costs around 2,600 reais (about 1,300 dollars).

I'm jealous of you, Dat. Please invite me over so we can have cookies while playing some PS3 games. :(

Man, that's twice as much as the most expensive model here in the U.S.

Sorry for stating the obvious.

I hope I get a PS3, but I want to get a Wii first. I must play Brawl. When it comes out. I want to play Tool of Destruction on the PS3.

What game do you plan on getting first?

I will now that you let us know you own a PS3. :o But only after I visit Minessota. :p

Yes, games and electronic devices in general usually cost here, at least, double the price they do in the US or Canada. It's mainly because we don't have those factories, and thus need to import those products; there are also importation taxes and whatnot. So when I travel abroad I take that opportunity to buy what I can: that's how I bought my digital camera, my Nintendo DS and my laptop.

Since I wanted to reply to this topic with something that actually contributed to the discussion, I ran through Wiki's list of Playstation 3 games to get to know some of them (I'm not exactly into PS games, so I don't really know them). I took a brief look at some of them to see if I found any that sounded interesting to my likings, and found these:

# Alone in the Dark - I never played the original, but it was so famous during the time. I actually would be scared to play it, and I'm not a big fan of this kind of 3rd-person playthrough (can't exactly say what it is), and even though I don't like violent games (such as war games and stuff, this survival-action genre doesn't really attract me), I would be curious enough to give it a try (as much as I am to play Resident Evil).

# The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - Haven't read the book, and haven't played any Narnia-related (or movie-related for that matter) videogames, but I like the series (at least, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe), I like the genre, and the trailer's nice, so there.

# The Elder Scrolls: Never played it, but I like the overall idea and theme.

# Enchanted Arms - See "The Elder Scrolls". I really like fantasy-themed games.

# Eternal Sonata - Same as the two above, but this one's theme, while somehow, uh, boring (at least to me), is quite peculiar. Oh, yes, there's also the small "kawaii" component.

# Final Fantasy - I just want to play any game of that series. :/

# Free Realms - "primarily aimed at children, particularly girls", and "will follow a model similar to that of popular MMORPGs like Maple Story" (I don't exactly know Maple Story, but looks so darn cute).

# The Golden Compass - Because I liked that book a lot.

# Guitar Hero III - Because Guitar Hero is simply awesome.

Okay, so I decided to stop at "G" because I'm getting a bit lazy and don't want to finish the list. I hope you get at least one of these games. >:(

...I hope they're good too. :/
