Totally the sixth book. Great ending, Genious Plot, grand Suspense.

I personally find book four as the best. Rowling finally stopped being kiddy and actually got to the reality that Voldemort is evil and he's stronger than Harry thinks. In the first three books, Harry survived because who he is not what he does. First Quirrel dies beacause he touches Harry who's saved by "love", then he pulls the sword out of the hat because he's in Griffindor, and finally, he can cast the petronus because of his father. However, in four, he finally sees how much danger he's in.

Totally agree. The sixth book was the best: the suspenseful ending, the masterful plot twists and all around darker aura made the book a jewel in an otherwise clichéd series.
The last book was an absolute disappointment for me. I'm not going to divulge into the plot or anything (for any of you who haven’t read it) but it made me grimace. The ending...Ugh. I had to force myself to finish it.
