One of my favourite games from when I was younger was Animal Crossing: Wild World. Only a few days ago I read about New Leaf coming out in July or... Something.
I never played the original or City Folks, but, I did play Wild World when I was about 10. Enjoyed it as a great casual game. I played that RNG for hours. Eventually I destroyed my Nintendo DS by changing the times way too much and couldn't play it. I loved that game.
Reliving childhood (then again, I'm still only 16.) I'm planning on getting New Leaf.
My favourite character through the game was Dora. The cute, polite, vast white mouse.
I wouldn't classify it as an Open World game. More of an Open.... Town game?
I'm thinking many of you haven't played it before. It is a good game to check back on every few days or so. Its fun to develop relationships with the animals of your town.
So, discuss favourite characters, best and worst moments, Resetti problem (Jesus, I hated him), speculation and inform me about the original or third Installment.

I've never played a game in the series before, or really any life-sim game, but it seems fun. I have New Leaf on preorder right now. I hope it's as fun as the bonus mode in Last Specter.

I hope it's as fun as the bonus mode in Last Specter. The bonus mode where you run around and do tasks in the town? I played some of that, and it was pretty entertaining for a while. From what I know, Animal Crossing is similar in ways to that, but then again, I've never played it myself, so I may be wrong.

I'm really hyped up for New Leaf! I've played all three games back when they all came out, and all of them are great. Admittedly, I've never really played the GCN version all that much, but Wild World was an awesome game. There's so much to do, and it feels very rewarding whenever a major milestone happens, such as paying off your mortage to improve your house, or even just being let off from the evil clutches of Tom Nook. City Folk probably would've been a lot better to me if it wasn't just a console version of Wild World, other than the City and the support for the failed Wii Speak accessory. I guess City Folk is good if you've never played Wild World before, but like I said, City Folk and Wild World are almost identical. Both games are great, but if you already played one of them, then you basically played both.
New Leaf looks like it's going to be the best one, though. Of course, the main attraction is being the mayor of your own town. This brings a lot of things to the fold, such as toggling the times that stores are open for, adding bridges and benches and the like to your town, and choose if Mr. Resetti should or should not appear whenever you leave the game without saving. That island area also seems like a fun new addition, as well as the Zelda decorations that you could put into your house. The game in general seems to be very polished, and I can't wait to download this game at midnight when it comes out on June 9th!

Animal Crossing... my sister was mostly into it, and by god, was she into it. XD She invested so much time into it, and it was kinda fun to watch. I made a file myself to help her with museum completion and stuff, and it was pretty fun to run around and hunt for rare bugs and fish. I'm glad New Leaf is gonna spice up the series, though. The past three games were literally the same game on different consoles.
