I doubt he'll catch Ho-oh (being the loser that he is ) but I do believe that the last movie should have Ho-oh as the main pokemon seeing as Ash already has some kind of special relationship with it.

I think the last episode, or rather last battle, should have Ash meeting his dad.

2nd last episode: Ash caught Ho-oh, and his evil dad turns up to want it and challenges his son for it; challenge takes place at the last epi.
Last episode: They both challenge, Pikachu evolves in the challenge because the err... yes, the battle ground is made of Thunderstones. I don't care who won, but Ho-oh flew away...

That's what my right brain can think up now. Just wait till it wakes up fully...

Maybe by the time they have the final episode they will have made pikablu and pikachu will evolve into that.

Ho-oh could make an appearance in the final movie/episode, but ash won't catch it.
I think in the last ep he'll have the chance to catch it, but he lets it go, that's the most that will probably happen.
Pikachu evolving to Raichu, don't think so.
Pikachu is what the kids want, so he won't evolve.
Then again, there's always a small chance.

I know this is aimed towards kids (thus no bad words etc.) but I have a feeling ash or pickachu or someone ends up dying or have something tragic happen to them. Or there's a musical montage and Ash becomes the greatest ever or something and he goes down in history.

i think that ash has a definite bond with legendary pkmn, because he sees ho-oh in the first episode, mew likes him, according to lethalvirus, which is kind of true, celebi allowed ash to time-travel with him (right? i havent seen the movie ) etc etc.

as far as the end of the series is concerned, i think that he will see ho-oh and the rainbow again, as in the first episode. maybe, highly unlikely, but maybe he should go home, and he suddenly sees his dad sitting at the dinner table. ash's dad is a super strong pkmn trainer and they have a nice *freindly* battle. ash wins, series over, the end. 8)

Ash is a lucky S.O.B. for meeting all the legendaries and he'll never see his dad in the anime. Pikachu won't evolve. Ash won't catch a legendary and Giovanni is not his dad. Last but not least, it is a show for KIDS; no one is going to die (the worst was the fifth movie where Latios "dies", and I put that in quotations because "his heart lives on, blah blah etc." I don't remeber the ending completely, so I might be off.

Accept and move on.

I reckon that hell ummm well he'll have his final gym battle then hell go home and prof oak goes "an old friend is here to see you." They walk out the back and oak opens a pokeball revealing ho-oh. And uhhhh Ash dumps pikachu on prof oak (YAY!!!!!!) And goes off with ho-oh.

Ash will never catch a legendary in his 10-year-old-but-goes-on-forever life. Who knows what could happen in the last episode/movie, that'll be 30 years from now. Maybie they'll finally find out that Pikachu hates little kids! Pikachu will either evolve into Raichu, or evolve into "Pikablu (Marill).
But for all we know, the day Pikachu evolves is the day when my puppy evolves.

On topic, Ash sees Ho-oh more than once. Ho-oh appears again after Ash first meets Brandon in the Battle Pyramid.

I think that in the last few episodes Team Rocket(not Jessie James or Meowth) somehow catch Ho-Oh and take it to Giovani. Then Ash and friends go to Team Rocket's base and face Giovani who is really Ash's dad.
