I dont think anyone should be able to use ANY Legendaries. Cuz when you think about it theres only ONE of them in the Entire world.

I think that you should be allowed to use any Pokemon no matter what it is. Nearly every post I read on this thread says something like "Legendarys are the only Pokemon who are cowardly" and "legendarys are cheap". Well if you find it unfair when fighting with a team of "normal" Pokemon against a team with a few legendary Pokemon (not a whole team) than thats your problem.
People who refuse to use legendary Pokemon are just people trying to look good. People who use a few legendary Pokemon (not a whole team of legendarys) are people who simply want to improve their team.

I like Metagross, as you can probably tell from my Trainer Card.
No Metagross isn't for cowards. Unless you shark/AR it. I mean, legitly you get it at LV.5 with one move, Take Down. Now you can use an EXP.Share or the Day Care Center, but some (E.V trainers, completionists) will choose to train properly and actually feel like they earned there insanely powerful poke.
So no, I don't think it is.
But that's just me.

But that's just me. Exactly. My Gyarados and Venasaur were both raised from level 5. I also have a level 75 odd Tyranitar, Dragonite and Gengar in my PC. I only replaced them with Groudon, Rayquaza and Mewtwo as they had better stats, movepools, abilitys (etc). Not because I'm some sort of 'cheap coward'.

in NO WAY is Metagross cheap! Battle! Metagross vs. charizard. Charizard uses fire blast, metagross is out of there! Chrizard vs. Jolteon. JOlteon uses thunderbolt! Charizard is out of there! Metagross vs. Jolteon! Jolteon uses thunderbolt! Metagross is still right there, metagross uses earthquake, jolteon faints. No pokemon is really for comwards in my opinion. Every pokemon can be just as easily defeated by another as the first pokemon just flattened a pokemon (confused huh?). I mean, no pokemon is completely dominant, it always has a weakness. No pokemon alone is cheap.

It IS strong, but as has been said, it can be owned by a vast amount of things:
STAB'd EQ on nearly anything that is part-Ground
Flamethrower/Fire Blast
Weezing (EQ can't hit it, Sludge Bomb and Brick Break are ineffectual, and Explosion is just a kamikaze attack)
And a few others. Adding in that it's hard to train, and starts off weak, I'd say that it's actually one of the hardest Pokemon to use well. But it's bloody good if you can use it!

Odd, it never occured to me that using n EXP share made the Pokemon any less hard to train. My Pupitar is EXP trained for over a month, and it's still not evolved.

I will admit that I used Legendaries when I was younger and dumber. That doesn't excuse it though. In competitve play, Legendaries strip down the usable Pokemon to about 16 decent fighters. If you ban Legendaries, you have about 47+ Pokemon to use in the Over-Used tier alone. Now, would you rather battle the same Pokemon over and over again, or would you want to face any random 6 from 47+ Pokemon? Oh, and I don't use Legendaries because I prefer hand-raised Pokemon.

Metagross isn't for cowards! It just appeals to them! (Just like it appeals to everyone else.) In fact, my friend gave me his Beldum to level up all the way to lvl. 50, and have it know Meteor Mash. Why can't he just raise it? -_-

For me, I used to have a metagross(before I Gave it to my brother) and i wouldn't consider it a cheap pokemon. From me, i consider a rayquaza with full out attacks such as hyperbeam a cheap pokemon. Which is why to my opinon, if you can train a Metagross the right way, it can take that rayquaza out, with a bit of luck I think.

Neither of those are unbeatable.

You're joking, mate? One Surf/Rock Slide/Iron Tail/Whatever and Shuckle is dead! It's absolutely RUBBISH.

Good lord. Heracross? Aggron? PRACTICALLY ANY SPECIAL SWEEPER? What can this take down? A Tangela.

These aren't cheap Pokemon. They're poor movesets on one horrendous Pokemon and one fairly good Pokemon. It doesn't matter how you look at it, ALL Pokemon can get KO'd by another.

Metagross isnt a cowardly choice, but it is just a choice for all those power lovers. If they can't be bothered to work with stat boosting stuff, they can get a Metagross with some uuber attacks and bang. They have a team.
I guess, Metagross is a way out of getting beaten. It's too uuber. I hate it. I love Metang thought.
I cant explain what I mean properly.

Ah, but what happens if you get a Modest Metagross with all EVs in Speed and Spec. Attack, plus miniscule Attack DVs? HAH! Metagross' power only works if you put some thought into it's movesets and stats. Same with all Pokemon.

There AREN'T actually that many Fire-types, and even less powerful ones. Charizard is pretty good, but it's rarely in OU play. I can't even think of any other good Fire types, bar Moltres or Ho-oh. Most of the rest probably can't even OHKO a Metagross, but it can EQ them in return and kill them. I suppose, in-game the trainers are different.
Earthquake is a far better counter against Metagross.

Metagross isn't for cowards. It's for patient people who take their time raising a Beldum after beating the game, and want a powerful pokemon. Besides, it can be beaten easily by ground, fire, dark (i think). So no, it's not for cowards.

I don't think dark is effective. I think it is neutral. But anyway, I love Metagross, but I think it looks better in its shiny form. (Gold and Silver)
I would kill it with Toxic probably...just kidding!

i don't think it's cowardly because trainers who took the time to train their beldum to become a metagross are true battlers.

For all those people who bothered to train their Beldum, do what I did, and give it the EXP Share, and go kill legions of Hariyama, Golbat, and Lairon in the depths of Victory Road, and you'll get an instant Metang.

Or if you're lucky enough to have FireRed, just trade it over and repeatadly kill the two Cooltrainers near the Chansey Man's house on Seven Island. Even quicker Metang in half the time!

the person who said it was for cowards is probably mad cause he/she got beaten by stevens metagross its like level 78 or something but use a lvl 60 blazikan fire blast will do the trick so its a normal pokemon not anything likr rayquaza, groundoun, kyogre it has good stats but not super awsome stats
