Well, Snorlax can learn Counter with TM 18 in Red/Blue/Yellow versions. Then I suppose you could trade it to Crystal Version.

It can also learn Counter the same way in Firered/Leafgreen, and there's a Counter tutor in Emerald.

Well knowing that what EV's do you sudgest for a snorlax that will learn:

Counter
Curse
Return
Earthquake/Shadowball/Rest (Most Likely Earthquake)

255 to HP is obvious. I think I should not increase Defence so that Counter will deal massive damage.

I was thinking 255 HP 200 SPDEF and 55 ATK.

That sounds good, but I would remove curse for shadowball or you have no defense against Dar, Ghost, and Psychic which all have powerful attacks and high speed. Leaving curse on there to lower your speed for and already impressive attack and defense just doesn't make sense to me.

I think I might Leave Curse in. Snorlax already has abysmal speed so lowering it wouldn't hurt. It also raises Snorlax's defence because counter can't stop all those eathquakes/FP/and Returns.
Shadow Ball would be a good defensive move but Snorlax's SPATK is just as low as it's defence.

Now with that being true what is your defense against a good ghost type. Counter can't reflect good SpcAttk. and evn though you're SpDef. is Huge what are you gonna do if hes your last haha. just sit there and die??? I doubt that will probably be a scenario though your bound to have a non-fainted pokemon with a good SpcAtk.

It is Either Earthquake or Shadow Ball to be my defensive move. Sure SB has a Type advantage, but Eathquake has a higher attack and will work wonders against Gengar and Psychic pokemon with low DEF (Which is just about all of them).

Going against a {drifblim} would be hilarious with that moveset (Earthquake).

Hello!

Does the term "2nd Generation" mean anything to you?

So if anybody could help me with my EV delema, that would be "Satisfactory".

Should I go

255 HP/255 SPDEF
or
255 HP/155 SPDEF/100 ATK
or
255 HP/200 SPDEF/55 ATK

?

yup, the only way to rasie a pokemon in GSC is through sta. inc, they never had EVs back then. you can look on psypokes if youd like. Vitamins back then just increased how a stat will go up a lil faster and you could only use a certain amount of them like in the new games. So yes that is wrong.

yes they grow evenly throughout battles and different pokemon don't affect their growth. the only way to alter it is vitamins and even then it is really slight.
