Have you ever noticed any 2 (or more) pokemon that look like evolutions of each other, but it turnes out that they aren't?

I always thought that Rayquaza looks like a totally beefed up Caterpie ({caterpie} -> )

And the whole Shuppet, Bannette, Duskull, and Dusclups group, I thought that they were all connected before I played the game.

Thinking that would become .... Wierd, to be honest.

I had a problem with evolution in Ruby. I never thought that would ever become . They looked too different to even be related that way. I spent a long time in my Ruby game just to find a wild so I can get . I was so shocked to find out the becomes .

Yeah I never got the Trapinch-Vibrava thing either. I used to think that Stantler was a Tauros evolutin.

There are 3 for me:

1: I thought Pinsir evolved into Heracross.

2: I thought Gastrodon evolved into Lapras.

3: I thought Farfetche'd evolved into Doduo.

Seems weird now...

Well I saw I thought for sure it would be the pre-evolved from for . How wrong I was. Game Freak should just change the whole Pokedex so that all Pokemon that evolve to the other are next to eachother.

They do that already. The Hoenn and Sinnoh dexes are arranged with all the families next to each other. The National Dex is just a numerical listing of all pokemon.

Could have been worse though - They could have done it Alphabetically! (Abomasnow evolves into Abra, which evolves into Absol, sei whut?!? o.0)

I mean a National Dex that has the pokemon grouped together. Hoenn and Sinnoh may work that way but they don't have all the pokemon, and that is the falt in that.

I never got the Vibrava thing. I finally got the official guide and was totally shocked.
Also, early on I thought Wailmer evolved into whatever the boxart Pokemon was (Kyogre). Then I found out it was a legendary, and was impressed at Kyogre, but disappointed at Wailmer.
That's pretty much it.

As with many people, Trapinch - Vibrava didn't click.

I thought that Slowbro evolved into Slowking instead of Slowpoke. Also I thought for a very short amount of time that Yanma evolved into Ninjask.

Slowbro does evolve into Slowking.

when i first got diamond, i thought for sure was a baby version of

when i was little i got this thing that had a meowth and gengar toy in it and for a while i thought that meowth evolved into gengar

Since they were next to each other in the Pokedex I thought that:
Plusle evolved to Minun,
Volbeat evolved to Illumise,
and Lunatone evolved to Solrock.
When they were just counterparts. Funky, no?

I thought Swalot evolved into Grumpig. At least they had the same colour.

I thought that castform would evolve into rotom.they look so much alike.

I forgot some. I thought Minun and Plusle had something to do with the Pikachu line.

I too fell for the Shellos/Lapras thing, and thought that Nosepass was a new Geodude lin evo.
