{gyarados} --> rain dance, or dragon dance??

No contest, Dragon Dance. Dragon Dance is such a great move since it ups the 2 stats essential to a Physical Sweeper.

Well I choose dragon dance. As I know, {gyarados} does not learn hydro pump / another water type move. For the combo, use Dragon dance 2 times combined with Thrash. let your {gyarados} hold a persim berry for backup. You should won, since {gyarados} had a good attack.

Dragon Dance because Gyrados is more of a Physical Sweeper so it will benefit him much more.

Gyarados has a pretty bad movepool, or at least it did in RSE (I'm not sure if there are any changes to its movepool for PD), which means that it learns very few Special Attacks. Too few for a Special Sweeping moveset, in fact, which makes a Special Sweeping moveset with Surf and Rain Dance less feasible. Moreover, Rain Dance might result in the foe switching in an Electric Pokemon with Thunder, which is 4x effective against Gyarados. Overall, Gyarados has better Attack than Special Attack as well. As such, I would recommend a Physical Sweeping moveset with Dragon Dance.

With the phys/spec split, it's move pool is better. However, DD is still better than Rain Dance: Rain Dance boosts water moves by 1.5x, and increases acc of Thunder (harmful). DD boosts all phys attacks by at least 1.5x, and raises Spd.

Teaching it both is pointless, as Rain Dance only boosts water moves, and only by 1.5x. Using DD once more, rather than both, would get better boosts.

Gyarados is far a better Physical Sweeper than Special. Dragon Dance hands down. Give it Waterfall and that would be a heck load of damage, better to teach it Waterfall instead of Surf.

Lolno. Kingdra as a special, Gyarados as a physical sweeper. Rain Dance on Kingdra as both Swiftswim boost + STAB power up + Good special attack make up for it. DD on Gyara because it's some move on such a Pokemon with high Attack and Speed + Intimidate. Aqua Tail/DD/Earthquake/Taunt ftw.

Gnaaye, Kingdra's Attack=Special attack. A kingdra with waterfall, return, DD, and Draco Meteor can do some damage, especially to an unlucky physical sponge that might come by.

DD all the way. Case closed.
