Do any of you guys play it? With my new condition, I have nothing to do. So, I have started playing it. It can be fun, but also, it can be boring. Plus, it is completely free. What do you guys think of it?

I think MS is pretty boring, nothing to it but levelling up. I played about 2 years ago, got to level 10 in a couple of days, and quit. Although I know a few people that are addicted to it/play it a lot and are at very high levels. I guess it depends on the kind of games you like.

I tried to play abouta year ago and I had to download like 12 different things and I quit.

I would say that I play, but I haven't logged on in several weeks. My highest character is a level 64 assassin in Broa. I don't know if I will start playing again.

Honestly, it's a great side MMO when you're bored with a main one (e.g. tired of WoW or Eve or FFXI or something like that) and just want something free to play.

On its own, I don't much care for it. Has ZIP for content, and most of the quests are so grindy it's not even funny (kill 400 of Monster X to get like 200 experience and a item you wouldn't want to use.

I play it occasionally -- my strongest character is a level 36 Cleric on Bellocan. As I've tried to explain many times, that game for me is a social game; it's the most fun when all my friends are on and we're questing, training or party questing together. My best friend (IRL) has a level 80 something Chief Bandit. It's kinda neat.

i played, but it was for one night, it was a little fun, but side-scrolling adventures get a bit lame. especially when they went and put real life stores in the game as ..just regular stores. I was unaware that Target had a Bellonia Branch, but I guess you learn something new everyday. ;o

I tried to download it. I think it is 8 months ago. But when i tried to open/play the game I got a message telling me that I had to download a patch. I did that and then I got a new message.
I kept downloading for 4 HOURS!! Then I deleted all the files that I had dowloaded.
I havent tried to download it again.

I haven't played it but it sounds fun.

I've played it for like a week (when I had nothing to do in Runescape) and had some fun with it. It wasn't amazing really, but it was pretty good. Then I beat this one mission and I got some "hair coupon" and I accidentally used it, and my hair was transformed into some retarted looking mess. I had to look like a retard unless I paid like 10 dollars. I then decided the game was a real scam, because paying TEN DOLLARS to change your hair back is a bit stupid... The game seemed pretty good, but all you did was kill things, it lost its fun pretty fast. I could've stood another few days of it, but after being turned into a retard until I paid about 10 dollars, I really didn't feel like playing.

P.S. Also their customer support sucks, they took like a month to reply to a simple question. By then I figured out the problem, and even QUIT THEIR GAME. But they cheerily said "TRY REBOOTIN' YOUR SYSTEM, 'KAY?" and I did try that when I had the problem, and it didn't work.

P.P.S. Try playing Runescape, for just $5 a month you get brand new updates every week. 1-3 new quests a month, possibly a new minigame every couple of months, graphical updates every month, a new skill every 10 months, new armor and items every once in a while, and even more. It's a really fun game that updates a heck of a lot, AND if you want, you can play the free version, but it has much less stuff, but is still awesome. However it isn't very "actiony", but heck, this is a pokemon forum, so I doubt everyone craves action. However it does make you tense and requires a level head, and fast clicking when in a sticky spot.

P.P.P.S. I don't get why in Maplestory you can pay like 3 dollars to wear a halo to look "fancy". All the things you buy don't change the gameplay at all, it's really stupid.

CHJB: A few things.

1. Don't complain about the Amoria: Beauty or Beast quest because you chose to do it. I think it states SEVERAL TIMES that you might end up with a really terrible hair cut, so it's your own fault anyway. I did the same quest but was lucky enough to get a good haircut. I still have it today.

2. You stated the above problem as if it was one of the primary reasons you left, yet later you stated you thought spending $3 on a halo seemed stupid because all it does is better your appearance. So uh...

3. You can buy money to do more than get cool clothes. The last thing I bought with NX cash was a cute little pink bunny rabbit named Feenie that picks up mesos when I run over them. He's adorable and worth the money.

I know it may sound contradictory to say I got annoyed when I looked stupid and said I don't want to pay to look normal, and say I don't want to pay to look fancy. But look at it this way, I don't want to look good, I just want to not look like an idiot. Looks aren't everything, but as I learned in MMORPGS, respect is. People won't respect you if you pay a few dollars for a pretty hat, but they WILL DISrespect you if you look like a braindead retard. I've learned that from a lot of online places, people won't respect you, but they will openly disrespect you.

I don't want to be made fun of because I didn't pay money to not look stupid, it's rather cruel. That's when I noticed the game was becoming a test of willpower, either you tough it out and get made fun of all the time, or pay them money. I repeat, rather cruel.

P.S. I guess I just had bad luck by accidentally getting a hair cut and getting a s****y haircut where everyone makes fun of me for having. I always have bad luck...
