You're too old for Pokemon whenever you decide you are. I'll never be too old, and I'm seventeen now. If you like something, you shouldn't worry about being too old for it.

When you realize it's your funeral, it's time to stop playing Pokemon

Its the competitiveness of the game that makes the it appealing for all ages...
I'm 16 and already in college(there's no junior high here in the Philippines), still I love to play this game...

Yeah, that's the only time you're forced to stop playing...

Feel no shame in playing Pokemon at any age. Sure, the theme may be aimed at a younger audience, but the material of the game itself is very complex, it's just as fun as other complex RPGs like the Final Fantasys.
Haha, dude I'm in the same boat as you, only I'm 15. I play Gameboy in class and no kid dares say anything to me: they figure I'm passionate about something and I'd break them if they tried to say something. There really is no age: Pokemon is so popular because it's ageless. It appeals to 5 year olds as much as it does to 15 year olds. There's a key to success there. And I agree again with Memphus, Pokemon can be looked at as extremely complex.

You're never too old to have passion for something you enjoy, whether it be video games, art, music, sports...... besides, I don't care about what people think of me and I'm 15.

Umm, I know people who are like 18 and play Pokemon. I'm only 14 and people call me gay just for playing it. I'd say that in your mid 20s you shouldn't be playing it, especially if you're married, but remember, this is my opinion. Don't get mad at me because it's not what you think is right.

well it doesnt matter how old you ARE it matters how old you feel inside I am 13 and i feel like I'm still a 7 year old inside
i get so irritated by people who hear their first pikachu cry and they instantly put it off as childish or something
although i see the US anime as a little childish i still love pokemon
and i hate how they removed the episode with tentacruel and the towers in US
and the one with james having cleavage XD
and its horrible how the poryogn episode caused seizures.....
sorry i was offtopic for a moment

Personally, I'm 22, been playing since the beginning, my roommate is 28 and plays it alot too, i also knew a guy who was in his 40's or 50's an played the gb games and tcg back when Gold an Silver first came out!
Last i saw him, he was still heavily into pokemon, and assuming nobody has stopped time, he has aged even further.
I also have all the Pokemon Adventures mangas i could find in english (imported from singapore) and will get new ones as they're translated, and also learned that rapidly heating and cooling metal can make it break from 10 or some odd number of team rocket robots getting blown up in the anime... oh an they had a metal balloon once (weird).
I have also seen the Porygon and did not have a siezure from the flashing colours.
I think to those who caught onto it in the beginning, pokemon is likely to be one of those timeless classics to be played over and over even in my later years, much like how i still play the original Mario Bros. and actually went hunting for a working Castlevania cartridge for NES!

I don't think any age is really too old. I'm 13, and whenever I see my best friend's little brother, we get into intense discussions about pokemon. It's quite funny actually. (: I don't really care if my friends know, and if someone would dislike you for such a silly reason, they're obviously a bad friend. That's my take on it. ^^
