This is simple, should they add new pokemon and when will they stop? About 500 is a lot, and pokemon going to be around for A LONG time. I personally hope they stop now or at 600, and focus on making the games core elements better. I saw this on another topic.



Why don't they do that, make the games just look a little more different. I don't mind if they use the same formula over and over that much, just make a little different.

Personally, I like newer Pokemon because then you can make improvements to older Pokemon. Also, with new Pokemon, comes new Pokemon moves, which tend to look better or do better than older moves.

Although I am 50/50 on this discussion because I do want better graphics and improvements in the games. Like, adding the touch screen for DPP made those games seem like I'm more involved in the game, rather than clicking buttons and doing the same thing over and over. Making Poffins by stirring was much better than pressing the A button at a certain point to make Pokeblocks. Digging for fossils is also fun because it's unpredictable when you are digging.

I don't want more new Pokemon after HG/SS come out, I would like more in-game functions that make you participate.

I personally think that they're starting to get lee interesting Pokemon and they're really starting to bank of the old Pokemon, not to mention they've tripled the number of legendary from generation 1 to generation 2. You don't need that many, honestly.

I do hope they keep making the games themselves better. I'd love to see a game where you can see all 4 continents and all the miscellaneous islands and even fight all 32 gyms. Maybe the storyline can be tweaked just a bit and they should make the game a little more open-ended. I think that would amp the game so much. Granted, it might not be available on a portable system anytime soon, but it would be their best game yet.

Making all of the event Pokemon available in the game would be nice too. Don't make it as easy as getting any of the major legendary or roaming Pokemon, but make them available if you work REALLY hard, you know?

I don't really see how they can continue to make new Pokemon; they just recently revealed the CREATOR OF ALL POKEMON. How can they top that? An evolved for of Arceus? That's stupid. I just don't see what else they could dream up other than making Chuck Norris a Pokemon...

Think though, they base pokemon on EVERYTHING. Trees, animals, magnets, food, Nintendos crazy inventions, and inanimate objects for gods sake. Think of all the different animals, plants, and all that, and all the different species and plants. The possibilities are absolutely endless. I almost forgot to mention that pokemon is probably THE biggest franchise in existence other than Nintendo itself. If they stop making pokemon, that makes Nintendo over 200 Million short, therefore probably going out of business. I can see pokemon going until AT LEAST 1000 pokemon. I know that sounds crazy, but seriously.

Mew filled the role as the "original Pokemon" before Arceus, but they still managed to make three additional generations after Mew's and even created a Pokemon (Arceus) that was retconned into Mew's position as the "first." I don't know why so many fans act like Arceus means they can't make new Pokemon anymore. Not every Pokemon is supposed to be as strong as a Legendary/Arceus; in fact, most aren't. And since when was it a requirement that newer Legendaries have to be stronger than or have to "top" older ones according to the plot? They don't. Thus, there's nothing stopping them from introducing new Legendary Pokemon, based on new and different origins, that still do NOT exceed Arceus' storyline strength.

A very good point, Frost, but let me offer this as a rebuttal; even though there's no rule that they have to keep making tougher, more powerful Legendaries you can't deny that they won't try. Look at this past generation; they introduced the commanders of time and space, obviously in an attempt to top the Land, Sea, and Sky rulers of the last generation. What's next? Life and Death Pokemon? This is not to say they won't just keep making what some would call "regular" Pokemon, and I'm certain they will actually. I guess I just don't see how they can make anything more, I don't know, extreme than Arceus short of programming Zeus and Mr. T into the next versions.

EDIT: And I'm sorry if I'm sounding a little too argumentative; I'm merely discussing, not really trying to say I'm necessarily more right than anyone else.
