Do Certain Pokemon Remind you of Other Characters?

When you see a certain pokemon, do they remind you of other characters from different shows.
Well, in my opinion, Gardevoir kind of reminds me of both Starfire and Raven from the Teen Titans cartoon. Why? Because of Gardevoirs's mental abilities and princess-like appearance. I'd say Gardevoir is more like Starfire though, because they are both beings that are in touch with their posititve emotions. Whenever I see a Staryu, it reminds me of Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants.
