I mostly use Rhapsody from Real Networks to listen to and occasionally purchase music. For a relatively small monthly fee you can listen to everything they have access to (which is a heck of a lot). I have several playlists on Rhapsody which will, litterally, run for days - this way I can start a playlist when I'm at work, and seldomly hear a song repeated. I also have purchased some downloads from Amazon, but if I'm buying from them, I usually buy the actual CD.

Limewire.
But if it's something from YouTube(Like 'Aniki Cantata' or 'Vega Cut') I used Media Converter.

I use CDs. :O
Or if I'm desperate to get one random song I'll just google it and look around for a reasonably safe result.

I just use a simple method, that never fails me (unless the album recently leaked).
Just go to google and type in site:mediafire.com *artist here* *album name here*
It usually works, + it's better downloading a full album rather than listening to a bands most overplayed songs. And they're usually good bitrates (i.e. 256 - 320).

Soulseek is awesome, almost never fails me in my searches - there's whole lotta music and if you need something really exotic, there's high probability you'd get it there.
Besides - method with mediafire mentioned above.

I use MP3Raid, or Dilandau.
I don't really use Limewire because I don't feel like grabbing any viruses. Besides, they've seriously ramped up their security.

I usually go for FLAC torrents, or high quality MP3 if that's not available. Either way I only ever download from torrents. I usually check ThePirateBay first, and then Google if I'm unsatisfied.
I wouldn't download songs from YouTube unless they don't exist anywhere else. Usually the audio quality is very sub-par.
I'm not sure how LimeWire has changed over the years, but last I knew you were picking out single songs amongst an army of viruses, which is way I stay far, far away. I prefer safer downloads, and everything to be organized and consolidated (for example, a discography torrent will have hundreds of songs in it).

The Pirate Bay. Because torrents are amazing. And because it isn't limewire.

There is no bigger music database than youtube. Just search for the music you want and use a converter to download it as a mp3 file!

That's a good point actually, but it's finding a good quality one...

i use limewire and CDs for most things, but lately my Zune has been stupid and I don't tend to listen to the music i download on my computer because getting on playlist.com and getting all my free music links that aren't really downloaded to your computer, but you take this big huge database of links and make playlists that are great and you have your own profile and everything. its quite handy. until you have a broken link and that song just dissapears from your playlist or is replaced with a creepy man telling you to go to some site about music. :0

Sites: piratebay
Program: BitTorrent (used for music and just about everything else)
Maybe I'm just silly, but I usually download the discography of an artist and end up buying the CDs I like by them. So, while I pirate, I still support the artist.
