Honestly I like that idea a lot, When I get a new game I want new experinces and what is better than having to experiment the first round through to see what's a good combination or not, what moves are learned and when. The game will be a completely new experince instead of tossing in a few new faces and the relying on the old stand bys

Yeah but a few pokemon have to be in the regional dex like pikachu, what would we do without the mascot and magikarp, hes a staple

uh, not really. a new take on those pokemon would actually be refreshing, imo. if the idea is to get everyone to feel like they're playing pokemon for the first time, do you guys think they'll put new game mecchanics in as well?? i rather doubt it, but you never know. overall, i'm really looking forward to Gen 5.

I do like that the typing is at least different for the Zubat sub, perhaps other staples will have locational doubles, eg. something else where yu find geodudes in caves, bugs in forests and for gods sake a new water type to replace Tentacool while surfing @_@

YES. I am so glad they only have Isshu pokemon. but, hate the idea or not, i don't think they should have the national dex with other regions pokemon. I want it to feel like RBY, a completely new game. It will never exactly feel like that, of course. But if the technology and pokemon are completely different. the mechanics of everything. if they're all new, i would be one happy fellow.

I love the idea, that whole experience is what I love about a new gen, and why I don't like to look at all the pokemon beforehand, well.. I try not to.

Also, does anyone else see Koromi becoming a really irritating "annoyer" with serene grace+heart stamp? If they are everywhere in caves, do Nintendo want the entire fanbase to kill themselves?

i can't see that thing being the new zubat. mainly because psychic is normally a not super common type. i think it will be in caves, and that the caves will have more diversity.

People did fine without him/her until Viridian Forest in Gen II, I think they'll do fine without him/her until National Dex.
This is coming from a person who HATES Pikachu with a fiery passion. =)

Do you know why Victini's number is 000 in the Isshu Dex? I think it's a scheme to cover up a massive amount of Pokémon that are coming out. The number of Pokémon coming out still has not been revealed. There probably will be more diversity in these caves, due to the massive amount of information left unrevealed. Or else Gen V will feel like Gen IV 2.

I think so, if they put it at the end like all other event legendaries, it would give away how many new additions there are. Furthermore, due to the fact that they won't introduce any non Gen-5 Pokemon leads me to belieave that there will be an even larger number of new Pokemon, around 200-250, say.

That's a rather huge number, possibly the size of the first two generations put together! I mean, I think they will have a lot in this generation, but just look at the first 4 generation numbers.

Gen II - 100
Gen III - 135
Gen IV - 107
Gen V - ???

I say, at most, 150 new Pokémon, since that's how many were at the beginning of the series (not including Mew, obviously). So I think they would make due with a number under 200.

I hope the number ends in 7.
