One of my favorite things to do online is to read webcomics. I used to love the newspaper comics when I was a kid, and to me, webcomics are a lot like that, except better because most of them are either better suited to people my age (late teens) or simply because I can choose what I want to read or not read.

Probably my favorite webcomic, as well as one that I don't think gets enough love around the interwebs, is Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, which despite the name actually updates every day (it took me two months to realize this fact ._. ). SMBC uses a fair amount of Dead Baby Comedy, but it also tends to be very well thought out, which is a relative rarity. Speaking of Dead Baby Comedy, another comic I like that uses it a lot is Cyanide and Happiness, which is more well-known. Not that thats a bad thing, of course, it's well known for a good reason.

Another comic I enjoy is XKCD, which everybody who has ever used the internet should at least know about, and if you don't then shame on you! I actually began reading XKCD because of a topic that Jigglypuff posted that explained how to eliminate spammers, and by extension morons, from forums.

Of course, I like my video games as much as the next guy, and I have a few comics that reflect that part of my life. Many of you probably know about VG Cats, and since this is a Pokemon website you probably also know about Nuzlocke. I like these comics well enough, but they both have a tendency to not update for months at a time, which ain't cool bro. So I usually get my video game character fix out of Brawl in the Family. It mostly follows the characters from the Kirby series (Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight, and Adeline), but there is plenty of screentime for all the other members of the SSB series' rosters.

This morning I happened to find a webcomic while browsing TVTropes (best site evar) called Misfile. Unlike the other comics I've mentioned, which are all comedic and don't follow storylines for the most part, Misfile is more dramatic and has followed a storyline from the very beginning. In fact, it's really more like a proper comic book or manga than a regular webcomic. The main premise is that a drunk/stoner angel keeping track on humans puts some paperwork in the wrong file cabinet while slacking off, and then gets fired without anyone knowing about the papers. This causes one guy to change genders into a girl, while another girl is de-aged two years, and they are the only ones who realize the error. It all makes sense in the story, trust me :p . Anyway, I archive binged all 1800 pages of it today and I absolutely love it. It's probably a bit mature for some people, and you really have to read from the beginning to understand the story, but it really is worth it.

So what webcomics do you guys read? I'm always looking to add to my list, so suggestions are most welcome.

tl;dr post your comics

I dont really look them up but my favourite is the oat meal.

everything else seems like they try too hard. I used to read C&H everyday but its now so full of overly cliche puns that 4 year olds make up. some of the xkcd ones are ok but... i don't understand a lot of them *blush*

I like this one I found on Smogon called Rare Candy Treatment. It makes fun of a lot of pokemon things we all can agree on. This one is a good example..

Don't really care if I repeat anything already posted in this thread, but here's the list of stuff I follow:

Awkward Zombie (updates on Mondays)
Bob the Angry Flower (Fridays)
Buttersafe (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Castle Vidcons (once every blue moon)
Cucumber Quest (Sundays and Wednesdays, with occasional bonus updates)
Cyanide & Happiness (every day)
Nedroid Picture Diary (2-3 times a week)
Penny Arcade (every three days)
Rare Candy Treatment (whenever)
XKCD (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays)

Just as a note; if you want to start reading Cucumber Quest, it's much more plot-driven than the other comics on my list, so start reading from page 1.

Nuzlocke, Super Effectice, and BitF have already been posted, so that just leaves me with The Fuzzy Five and Gold Coin Comics. Updates on Monday+Wednesday and I think Tuesday+Thursday. One is about the squishables, who are THE most awesome plushies ever, and the other is for online RPG fans.

Oh dear, time to trim out the Comics folder to the ones appropriate to post here. Every day, Firefox yells at me for trying to open 19 tabs at once...

MegaTokyo - One of the "classic" American-Manga comics. Been reading since high school, not that it takes much when 1 new page a month is a "rapid" update schedule compared to how it's going.
Applegeeks - Pretty much dead, but the artist is quite talented, and the writer's gone on to some other rather popular projects that I haven't got around to reading yet.
MacHall / Three Panel Soul - The college / real life pair of comics. Great stuff for anyone in the 17 - early/mid 20's range.
Misfile - EP already mentioned it. Author's strange quirks of anatomy bug me sometimes, but the general premise and whole "what defines self" theme is pretty cool.
xkcd - The geek comic.
Boxer Hockey - Another "barely updates" one, but a funny story.
Fail Friends - Semi-autobiographical, involving someone from MegaTokyo's forums, which is how I found it.
Hipster Hitler - Just what it says on the tin.
Stupid Fox - Also just what it says on the tin.

A few more adult-oriented ones:
Nerf Now - Various nerdy jokes, lot of TF2 and stuff. Generally silly, sometimes less than entirely appropriate.
Questionable Content - Nothing more visually explicit than you'd find in a PG-13 movie, but some pretty heavy topics and dialog not appropriate for anyone not yet in high school. Also, the degree to which the art has improved over the years is astounding, and going back to view the earlier comics is difficult.

There's a few more on my list that are strictly inappropriate for minors. Which is a shame, cause some of them have, in my opinion, the best stories out of any webcomics I read. They just also happen to feature people running around completely nude for a few pages, spouting off some cleverly colorful language, or dying some particularly gruesome deaths.

I really only read XKCD, VG Cats, Super Effective, Brawl In The Family. I don't really read a lot of Webcomics.

So far (of ones I can post on this topic) I've added Hipster Hitler and Stupid Fox to my list. Another one I've found that I'm starting to get into is El Goonish Shive, which I haven't gotten all the way through on, but is quite absurd. It's pretty funny though.

Also, in case there is anyone else interested, I have found this site: TopWebcomics. Yes, its exactly what it says on the tin. You can vote up your favorites and find new ones to read, which is interesting.

i need to find something new to do dont i ._.

I read xkcd, VG Cats, Super Effective, and Penny Arcade. I just started reading MegaTokyo from the beginning, and I'm on strip #165 right now.

Regarding xkcd, I'm usually one who understands the jokes but, like most people I don't understand many of the ones on topics I haven't explored yet.

In addition to many of the others already listed, I'm fond of MS Paint Adventures. I recommend starting with Problem Sleuth, but beware it is pretty long. I haven't started Homestuck yet but it has a pretty large following so I'll probably give it a shot soon.

I also like Gun Show a lot. Some of the entries are just so outrageously hilarious.

Hmm ... quite a few of us are following VG Cats & Super Effective I see. As well as Awkward Zombie, so I'll skip those. Hopefully I'll be able to mention a few that you all haven't found yet! Gunnerkrigg Court (we follow the school years of a young girl discovering magic, adventure and robots); http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/index2.php

My Sister the Freak (okay, I can't really describe this one ... but there's aliens!); http://www.mysisterthefreak.com/

Sandra and Woo (a young girl and her talking raccoon ... you can't go wrong with talking raccoons ... well, maybe you can); http://www.sandraandwoo.com/

I am so glad to see that you are in love with web comics. I too am an ardent fan of web comics and some of my favorites are “Arthur, King of time and space”, Achewood, Frentic Funnies, The Adventures of DrMc Ninja and Questionable content. Haven’t heard of Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal! I’ll be giving it a try.
